Morning Stroll

I walked through the path
That lay before me with
The sun’s morning rays
To show me the way.

The birds were chirping
The water was dripping
From the mountains
That used to be a fountain.

The day ahead looked bright
My thoughts seemed right
The morning stroll
Was taking its toll.

A new day had risen
To fulfil my mission
Of searching the unknown
To realize what is known.

  1. Not that I am any expert that has a right to critique – but I thought this was very nice for your first attempt at poetry. I am quite an nontraditional writer, so I don’t know that you’d want to take my advice – but just remember to let your creativity run free and don’t feel it’s necessary to stay cramped within the box of rhyming etc. If you are happy with the words that you want to use, and your thoughts flow nicely – then just let it write itself πŸ™‚
