IBMC #05: The Not So Quite Quote Challenge

‘I am confused at times. Should I sound? Should I echo?’, Riya thought as should stood in the church hall. She was not sure why she was there. She was no atheist, but she was recently disturbed by the word God. If there was God, why is it that people around her are suffering. She had tried to discuss this with her mom. ‘You need not answer all the questions! You can just laugh and laugh again. There are a lot of things in this universe that you don’t know about’, her mom would say. ‘I knew it! That I don’t know!’ was all that she could reply.

As she stood there her mind reached out to her best friend who had been bedridden for a over a year now. It was an accident that took the joy out of their lives. She tried not to think of those days. Thoughts – they do what we don’t ask for!

She couldn’t make up her mind. ‘At times, we pretend to think on one and actually think everything else!’, she felt. The serenity of the church had a soothing effect on her. As the sun rays through the church windows shed a glow on the altar, she felt a ray of hope. Slowly, she went down on her knees and knelt before God. ‘Lord, please make her walk again’, she prayed.
